When navigating a big beauracracy like the VA, you don't know what you don't know. So, the VA created a new map to guide veterans like yourself on the path to a successful post-military life, using the benefits and services you have earned.

The new VA Welcome Kit is a simple break down of the benefits that are available at the VA and how to access them. It uses a linear map called “Your Journey” that shows your military career, then veteran life and how the VA factors into each stage. At each of the phases, from “Building Your Career” and “Putting Down Roots” to “Retiring” and “Aging,” the kit lays out the benefits and services the VA offers, such as home ownership and education.

Each phase and its benefits is then broken down further, explaining where to find more information and resources within the VA.

This new kit’s introductory overview is great for veterans who have no or limited experience with the VA.

The last section of the kit includes check lists and important information for navigating VA Health care, education benefits, and disability ratings.
