If you need the care, jump the stigma

Advocacy group helps vets in need get mental health treatment

They're diseases like any other. That's what Paul Dillon, who served as an Army officer in Vietnam, tells fellow vets about mental health issues. The upshot of his message: like other medical conditions, mental health problems can often be cured, always be treated -- and it takes strength to reach out for help. 

Paul talked with CBS Eye on Veterans about work done by The Kennedy Forum, a non-profit whose mission is to crush stigmas related to mental illness, addiction, and similar diseases -- and see that insurance companies follow the 2008 law that requires they make getting mental health treatment as easy as finding care for any other condition:
