Our Employer of the Week series features one company each week that has made a commitment to hiring veterans. This week’s employer is Johnson Controls.

Johnson Controls is a global diversified technology and industrial leader committed to creating quality, sustainable products, services and solutions. The company serves customers in more than 150 countries and employs 168,000 individuals to deliver its products in buildings, batteries and distributed energy storage. On top of all that, they support military personnel and veterans.

“At Johnson Controls, we value military veteran employees for the strong work ethic and leadership experience they bring to our company,” said Susan Davis, executive vice president of Human Resources. “Beyond that, military veterans have a sense of productivity and accountability that translates well into our environment.”

In addition to being a member of the Veteran Jobs Mission coalition, Johnson Controls has received a number of awards and recognition for its support of veterans and spouses. It was featured in the U.S. Veteran’s Magazine Best of the Best 2013 and recognized as a Top 100 Military Friendly Employers® for 2016 and the USO Wisconsin Veteran Friendly Workplace Award winner for 2017.

Johnson Controls offers a variety of veteran support programs, partnerships, services, and opportunities. Veterans can access and explore these opportunities through the Veteran Engagement Team. This team of employees works to provide support to veterans during their transition to Johnson Controls and civilian life.
