Our Employer of the Week series features one company each week that has made a commitment to hiring and supporting veterans. This week’s employer is Deloitte.

Deloitte’s 245,000 employees in 150 countries offer services in audit, financial advisory, tax and consulting to solve its clients’s toughest problems. The company is consistently ranked by Fortune and BusinessWeek as one of the best places to work. For more than 150 years, Deloitte has been committed to making an impact that matters in the world.

As a member of the Veteran Jobs Mission, Deloitte is committed to hiring a veteran workforce and has been for years. Now, the company offers a range of support programs and training opportunities to service members and their families.

Deloitte aims to bring military skills and leadership into the company’s workforce through its Military Veterans talent community. This talent community serves both veterans and spouses in congruence with its Military Spouse Initiative. This initiative aims to help spouses not only find jobs, but start careers.

The company also offers a training program called Career Opportunity Redefinition & Exploration (CORE). This training course helps armed forces members and veterans translate military skills and knowledge to the civilian business world.

Beyond hiring initiatives and training programs, Deloitte has demonstrated its advocacy of veterans in other ways. For example, Deloitte sponsors veteran events and competitions like the Warrior Games. This competition is designed for wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans to compete in events including archery, track, field, volleyball, basketball and more.
