The Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island is known for its rigorous training.

Lt. Col. Kate Germano, former commanding officer of 4th Recruit Training Battalion, led the Corps’ all-female recruit battalion at Parris Island.

She tells CBS Radio’s ConnectingVets.com her story and describes the current state of women in the military.
