Decorated for his combat videography in 1991, while attacking into Kuwait with the 1st Marine Division, his military service also included stints in Hollywood as a technical advisor to the motion picture industry and in Washington as producer of a weekly Navy Department TV news program.
GI Bill benefits helped Chas earn a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television — then a Master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. His graduate coursework included a semester at Oxford University.
